Our Environmental Services team is committed to proactively managing environmental issues. We offer integrated, multidisciplinary services to help our clients address site management, remediation, and mitigation challenges. Your Opportunity: Make an Impact as a Wetland Scientist

We’re looking for a Wetland Scientist to join our Environmental Services team, a close-knit group of environmental and regulatory specialists with a shared dedication to making a difference. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct wetland delineations and assessments for regulated resources following the US Army Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual and the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act
  • Prepare environmental permit applications for projects in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and other New England states
  • Engage in reporting, permit application support, and clear communication with project managers, clients, and regulators
  • Work efficiently and safely, independently or as part of a field team, on a variety of terrains

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in inland and coastal resource delineations per Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act requirements, and Section 404/401 of the Federal Clean Water Act
  • Ability to prepare detailed technical reports on wetland delineations and other natural resource surveys
  • Knowledge in preparing permit applications for the Corps and Massachusetts DEP Division of Wetlands and Waterways
  • Familiarity with wetland delineation protocols in New England states beyond Massachusetts is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulators
  • Proficiency in field technology (e.g., GPS or iPad data collection) and in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Positive attitude, strong ethics, and a commitment to safety and excellence
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (advanced degree preferred)
