Job Summary:

The Group Controller is an experienced and dynamic leader with a proven track record of fostering a high-performance culture in a fast-paced, growth-oriented business. This role requires a passion for efficiency, technology optimization, and the design of robust processes to ensure accurate and high-quality financial results. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who excels at building partnerships across various business functions.

As the leader of a team comprising approximately 11 associates, the Group Controller collaborates closely with the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis. Together, they ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting to senior management, lenders, and private-equity investors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Scalability and Excellence:

    • Strengthen the accounting team by automating processes and identifying efficiencies to reduce manual effort.
    • Build a scalable operational framework for accounting excellence.
  2. Internal Controls:

    • Establish and document robust internal controls to mitigate the group’s risk of fraud, errors, or asset loss.
    • Ensure compliance with control procedures.
  3. M&A Support:

    • Assist in the active M&A strategy by developing net working capital calculations.
    • Manage opening balance sheet entries and lead the integration of acquired businesses’ accounting and reporting activities.
  4. Team Assessment and Capacity Planning:

    • Continuously assess team capabilities and capacity using productivity metrics.
    • Make recommendations on team structure and resource allocation to support high-growth objectives.
  5. Financial Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation of the group’s quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.
    • Ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
  6. Revenue and Receivables Management:

    • Supervise the calculation and recording of revenue and accounts receivable.
    • Collaborate with insurance carriers and alliance participants.
  7. Treasury and Banking Relationships:

    • Manage all commercial banking relationships.
    • Oversee treasury-related activities, including cash flow management, reporting, and optimization.

Qualifications:

    • Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and compliance.
    • Familiarity with accounting standards.

This position may be based in our office or operate remotely, depending on company policies and business needs.
