Key Responsibilities:
- Roadway Design: Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO and MassDOT specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Project Development: Develop and oversee design plans, calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos and Design Justification Workbooks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members, other disciplines, and sub-consultants.
- Field Investigations: Perform field investigations and provide construction phase services support.
- Client Interaction: Present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.
- Project Management: Understand project tasks within the overall project schedule, budgeting, and available resources.
- Mentorship: Mentor and coach junior engineers on transportation design and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
What We’re Looking For:
- Leadership: Ability to lead or assist in leading a team through all phases of project document production.
- Collaboration: Great collaborator, effective communicator, and time manager.
- Problem-Solving: Comprehensive approach to challenges and problem-solving.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Massachusetts.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in engineering design, with project management experience a plus.
