Role Overview
As a Senior UX/UI Software Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our platform’s user experience. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and software engineers to create elegant, efficient, and delightful web-based interfaces. Responsibilities
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Product and UX design teams to define user interface specifications.
- API Design: Collaborate with software engineers to design and develop user interface APIs.
- Web Interfaces: Implement functional, elegant, and efficient web-based user interfaces.
- Testing and Integration: Conduct thorough testing and integration of your work.
- Code Reviews: Thoughtfully review your teammates’ work.
- Project Management: Manage individual project priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.
- Stand-Up Meetings: Participate in stand-up meetings to review progress and plan next steps.
- Stay Current: Keep up with web interface development standards and trends.
- Technology Adoption: Introduce new technologies and best practices to keep our product current.
Key Qualifications

- Educational Background: A degree in a technical or scientific field, or equivalent experience, education, or training.
- JavaScript Expertise: 7+ years of experience writing client-side JavaScript.
- Web Frameworks: Proficiency with modern web development frameworks and tools (e.g., TypeScript, React, Next.js).
- Testing Skills: Familiarity with testing technologies (Jest, Testing Library, and Cypress or Playwright).
- Layout and Styling: Expertise in building complex layouts with HTML and CSS.
- Design Collaboration: Experience working with design software, such as Figma.
- CI/CD Familiarity: Understanding of continuous integration and deployment lifecycles.
- Version Control: Knowledge of software engineering best practices using GitHub.
- Problem Solving: Ability to effectively analyze and triage production software problems.
Bonus Points
- Experience with fp-ts, d3, or Tailwind CSS.
- Startup Experience: Comfortable working in small startup environments.
- Accessibility Advocacy: Passionate about making inclusive and accessible interfaces.
- Design Background: Experience designing websites or applications.
- Performance Optimization: Familiarity with investigating and improving JavaScript performance.
