Senior Structural Engineer – Waterfront
Location: Hingham, MA (Hybrid) | Other New England Locations | Remote Flexibility

A leading transportation and infrastructure team is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with expertise in marine and waterfront structures. This role will support complex design and construction administration projects throughout New England, including piers, dry docks, ferry terminals, seawalls, and bulkheads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural engineering design and planning for waterfront infrastructure projects

  • Oversee and mentor junior and mid-level engineering staff

  • Conduct technical reviews, seal contract deliverables, and ensure quality standards

  • Solve complex engineering challenges and develop innovative design solutions

  • Coordinate with clients, agencies, and project stakeholders

  • Manage project budgets, invoicing, schedules, and deliverables

  • Participate in proposal writing and regulatory discussions when needed

  • Perform fieldwork and site visits as required (~25% travel)

Qualifications:

  • PE license in at least one New England state (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in marine/waterfront structural engineering

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)

  • Experience with structural software (e.g., CSiBridge, Shoring Suite, Optimoor), AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MathCAD, and BIM

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills

  • Experience with federal marine-related clients (e.g., NAVFAC, USACE) is a plus

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work model (average 3 days in-office)

  • Office location in Hingham, MA, with flexibility across other New England offices or remote settings

  • Travel within the New England region as needed for fieldwork and client engagement
