Your Opportunity

Our New England Transportation group seeks a talented Senior Transportation Engineer with 8 years of roadway/highway design experience. The location for this opportunity is flexible between our Auburn NH, Quincy MA, Boston MA, or Burlington MA offices and hybrid work. Are you up for the challenge of working on diverse transportation projects that push boundaries?

The ideal candidate embodies a positive attitude, self-motivation, and a hunger for learning. As a civil engineer experienced in roadway design, you’ll contribute to our growing team of transportation professionals. Your role? Lead highway design for both large and small roadway and bridge projects across Massachusetts. Plus, there’s potential for project management down the road.

Key Responsibilities

  • Precision Roadway Design: Create roadways in alignment with AASHTO and MassDOT specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Holistic Oversight: Develop and supervise design plans, calculations, technical specs, and construction cost estimates.

  • Informed Decision-Making: Prepare engineering reports and technical studies, including design memos and Design Justification Workbooks.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members, other disciplines, and sub-consultants.

  • Field Insights: Conduct field investigations and provide construction phase support.

  • Client Interaction: Present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.

  • Resource Management: Understand project tasks within the overall schedule, budget, and available resources.

  • Mentoring: Coach junior engineers in transportation design and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Leadership: Guide teams through all project phases.

  • Collaboration: Be an effective communicator and time manager.

  • Problem-Solving: Offer comprehensive solutions to challenges.

  • Bonus Points: Experience with Microsoft Project.

Education and Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering.

  • Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Massachusetts.

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in engineering design, with project management experience as a plus.

  • Work Environment: Primarily office or virtual setting, with occasional field work.
