Senior Structural Engineer – Waterfront
Location: Burlington, MA (Hybrid) | Other locations: Boston, Hingham, Providence, Portland (ME), Auburn (NH), Hartford (CT)
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer specializing in marine and waterfront infrastructure to lead complex projects for public and private clients throughout the New England region. From dry docks and bulkheads to ferry terminals and piers, you’ll help shape the future of coastal transportation and resiliency.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead design and construction administration for marine and waterfront projects

Oversee and mentor junior engineers; review and seal contract deliverables

Coordinate with clients, agencies, and permitting authorities

Develop structural plans using tools like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MathCAD, and BIM

Perform quality control reviews and ensure design compliance with codes and standards

Manage project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and technical deliverables

Travel within New England (~25%) for project meetings, fieldwork, and site visits
Qualifications:

15+ years of relevant experience in marine or waterfront structural design

PE license in at least one New England state (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)

Proficiency in structural design tools (e.g., CSiBridge, Shoring Suite, Optimoor)

Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills

Familiarity with federal agency projects (e.g., NAVFAC, USACE) is a plus
